Batman: The Brave And The Bold Is The Live-Action Introduction Of The DCU Dark Knight

James Gunn will introduce a brand new Batman for the DCU.

During the DC Universe slate announcement today, James Gunn spoke about the future of Batman. More is coming our way. Director Matt Reeves is working on his film The Batman: Part II, starring Robert Pattinson. It has a release date of October 3rd, 2025. Reeves is also working on a Penguin TV series starring Colin Farrell. Gunn iterated that his version of the Dark Knight is its own thing and is more of a crime saga. So that means Gunn has his version, which he plans to introduce, neither Pattinson nor Ben Affleck. The Brave and the Bold will be the film to introduce the DCU version that includes Robin. This time the sidekick will be Damian Wayne, Bruce’s son. The story will tackle THE unusual father-son relations inspired by Grant Morrison’s comic series. Finally, other members of the extended Bat Family will be featured with this new iteration of the caped crusader. Watch the segment below of Gunn talking about the planned film.
