Beetlejuice Sequel Adds Willem Dafoe

Beetlejuice 2 will hit theaters in 2024.

Willem Dafoe to appear in Beetlejuice 2.

As previously announced, Beetlejuice 2 is currently filming in London. Tim Burton returns to helm the sequel with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. Jenna Ortega was previously cast as Ryder’s daughter. Now Willem Dafoe will join the film along with Justin Theroux. According to THR, Dafoe plays a law enforcement officer in the afterlife. The script is by the writers of Wednesday Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Danny Elfman returns to score the new film, It will be in theaters on September 6th, 2024.

Synopsis of 1988 film.

After Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones) and teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious spirit whose “help” quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia.
