Michael Keaton returns as Beetlejuice in Tim Burton’s sequel.
Beetlejuice is making a comeback! The legendary Tim Burton and the amazing Michael Keaton are teaming up again for the long-awaited sequel, “Beetlejuice 2.” Fans worldwide can look forward to the movie hitting theaters on September 6th. Michael Keaton is back as Beetlejuice, and Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara are joining him again. Ryder, known for her roles in “Stranger Things” and “Little Women,” is back as Lydia Deetz, and O’Hara, known for her work in “Schitt’s Creek” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” returns as Delia Deetz. The new lineup includes Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Jenna Ortega, and Willem Dafoe.
The plot centers around an unexpected family tragedy that brings three generations of the Deetz family back to Winter River. Lydia’s life is thrown into chaos when Astrid discovers a mysterious model of the town in the attic, accidentally opening a portal to the Afterlife. As trouble brews in both realms, the inevitable utterance of Beetlejuice’s name three times brings the demon back to unleash his unique brand of mayhem. Watch the trailer below!
Tim Burton directs the movie.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the screenplay, which is based on a story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. Burton works with a talented team behind the scenes. The film includes director of photography Haris Zambarloukos, production designer Mark Scruton, editor Jay Prychidny, Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, and Oscar winner Neal Scanlan, who handles the creature effects and special makeup FX. Also, Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman and Oscar-winning hair and makeup designer Christine Blundell contribute their expertise.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is set to bring back the same quirky, supernatural charm that made the original a classic. Fans are excitedly waiting for its release and can’t wait to see Beetlejuice back on the big screen.
