DEA imposters unravel a major drug corridor in Dope Thief on Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ is set to debut its latest crime drama, Dope Thief. The eight-episode series, executive produced by Academy Award-nominee Ridley Scott, who also directs the first episode, was created and executive produced by Academy Award-nominee Peter Craig. The series also stars Academy, Emmy, and Tony Award-nominee Brian Tyree Henry. He serves as an executive producer. It is set to debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 14, 2025. The first two episodes will be available for streaming. Subsequent episodes will premiere weekly on Fridays through April 25.
Dope Thief is based on Dennis Tafoya’s novel of the same name. It follows two longtime friends from Philadelphia. They pose as DEA agents to rob what they believe to be an unsuspecting rural home. However, their small-time con quickly escalates into a high-stakes struggle for survival as they inadvertently expose a vast and hidden narcotics corridor along the Eastern seaboard.
Henry leads an ensemble cast. It includes Wagner Moura (Narcos), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Voyager), Nesta Cooper (See), Amir Arison (The Blacklist), Dustin Nguyen (21 Jump Street), and Golden Globe-winner Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible franchise).

With Scott’s signature visual storytelling and Craig’s expertise in crafting compelling, high-stakes narratives (The Town, Top Gun: Maverick), Dope Thief is expected to deliver a gripping mix of crime, action, and suspense. The series joins Apple TV+’s growing roster of high-profile original programming, further solidifying the platform as a destination for premium storytelling.
Apple Studios produce Dope Thief in collaboration with Scott Free Productions. When the series premieres this spring, fans of crime dramas and thrillers can anticipate a tense, character-driven ride.
