Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo headline L.A. heist thriller ‘Crime 101.’

A new trailer for “Crime 101” is here, teasing a sun-baked Los Angeles thriller built around precision robberies, tightening pressure, and one last job that could change everything. The film opens exclusively in theaters globally Feb. 13. Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo lead the cast in a story that blends sleek heist tension with character-driven stakes.
A Jewel Thief Leaves a Pattern Along the 101
Set against the grit and glare of Los Angeles, “Crime 101” follows an elusive jewel thief (Hemsworth) whose string of heists along the 101 freeway has left police chasing shadows.

When he sets his sights on the score of a lifetime, his confidence turns into risk. The closer he gets to pulling it off, the more the job starts to feel like a trap.
Halle Berry’s Broker Hits a Crossroads
Berry plays a disillusioned insurance broker facing her own breaking point. The trailer frames her as someone who knows the system, understands the angles, and has reached a moment where playing it safe no longer feels like living.

Her path collides with the thief’s at the worst possible time. From there, the movie looks set to push both characters into choices that are part survival, part self-destruction.
Mark Ruffalo Closes In as the Stakes Rise
Ruffalo plays a relentless detective convinced he has found the pattern behind the robberies. While others see chaos, he sees rules. As he closes in, the film shifts into a tighter cat-and-mouse game. The trailer suggests the line between hunter and hunted won’t stay clean for long, especially once the heist begins.
Bart Layton Adapts Don Winslow’s Novella
“Crime 101” is written and directed by Bart Layton, who adapts Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella of the same name. Layton’s previous films include “American Animals” and “The Imposter,” and this one appears to lean into grounded tension and moral gray areas.
Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte round out the ensemble.
“Crime 101” opens in theaters globally on February 13.
