DC Announces New Hardcover Anthology, “Supergirl: The World”

DC expands “The World” line with Supergirl-led global collection.

DC is sending Supergirl around the world this summer. The publisher announced “Supergirl: The World,” a new hardcover anthology that spotlights Kara Zor-El through original stories created by writers and artists from 15 countries. The collection will launch day-and-date worldwide on June 2, 2026, inviting readers to see the Maiden of Might through different cultures, settings, and creative traditions.

The project follows DC’s recent international anthologies “Batman: The World” and “Joker: The World,” which used the same global format. This time, Supergirl takes center stage in a book designed to feel both universal and deeply local, depending on where each chapter comes from.

A 15-Country Tour for the Maiden of Might

“Supergirl: The World” features standalone stories set in the countries that produced them. Those regions include Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Cameroon, France, Poland, Turkey, Finland, Colombia, Serbia, Japan, and the United States.

Together, the chapters aim to form a single portrait of Supergirl as a hero who means different things to different audiences. At her core, DC positions Kara as a symbol of hope, resilience, and compassion. However, this anthology puts that idea to the test in new places, with new stakes, and new visual styles.

DC’s official description frames the concept around Kara learning her adopted world by experiencing it firsthand, while still doing what she does best: saving lives.
