The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards lit up Los Angeles on September 14, celebrating the very best of the 2024-2025 TV season. Hosted by Nate Bargatze at the Peacock Theater, the night belonged to a few standout series that dominated their categories.

Drama Series: The Pitt’s Clean Sweep

HBO Max’s The Pitt pulled off a near sweep in the drama categories. Noah Wyle earned Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, while Katherine LaNasa took home Outstanding Supporting Actress. Britt Lower (Severance) and Tramell Tillman (Severance) also won top honors, but the evening’s crowning moment came when The Pitt was awarded Outstanding Drama Series, solidifying its status as one of the year’s most acclaimed shows.

Stephen Graham won Outstanding Lead Actor, while Erin Doherty claimed Outstanding Supporting Actress. Owen Cooper delivered one of the most historic moments of the night by becoming the youngest Emmy winner ever, earning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. Director Philip Barantini and writers Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham were also recognized for their work on the series.

Seth Rogen won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, and the show also captured both Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, shared with longtime collaborators Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. The night ended with The Studio claiming Outstanding Comedy Series, marking four major wins for the new series.

Jean Smart (Hacks) and Hannah Einbinder (Hacks) were also celebrated in comedy acting categories, with Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere) taking home Supporting Actor.

Variety, Reality, and More
