James Gunn’s Superman heads to the Fortress of Solitude.

Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the first sneak peek of Superman, the highly anticipated feature film from DC Studios, directed by James Gunn. The teaser debuted in theaters ahead of Minecraft, giving audiences an early look at the studio’s reimagining of the Man of Steel. Watch it below!
Gunn, known for his unique blend of action, humor, and heart, helms the new take on the legendary superhero. The film introduces David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) starring as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (Juror #2, X-Men films) portraying Lex Luthor.
DC Studios co-CEOs Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The supporting cast includes Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind), Anthony Carrigan (Barry), Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the Galaxy films), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza), and many more.
With cinematography by Henry Braham, production design by Beth Mickle, and a score composed by John Murphy, Superman aims to bring a modern yet timeless interpretation of the beloved hero.
Superman will be released in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, with international rollouts beginning on July 9, 2025. The film marks the first major installment in DC’s new cinematic universe, setting the stage for a fresh era of superhero storytelling.
