The fan-made film honoring BTS’ historic fandom arrives in cinemas worldwide starting July 30.

The upcoming feature-length documentary Forever We Are Young will hit theaters around the world for a limited run beginning Wednesday, July 30, 2025. It celebrates the global impact of BTS and their beloved fanbase, known as ARMY. Tickets for the highly anticipated release go on sale Wednesday, July 2, at www.btsarmymovie.com. Participating cinemas will offer branded concessions and official movie posters.
Directed by award-winning filmmakers Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, Forever We Are Young is a vibrant, emotional, and fan-driven tribute to the passionate community that helped launch BTS into superstardom. Distributed globally by Trafalgar Releasing, the film captures the unmatched energy, dedication, and diversity of ARMY—an acronym for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth”—which now spans more than 90 million fans worldwide.
A Story Told Through the Fans
Forever We Are Young is told entirely through the lens of BTS fans, with heartfelt interviews from around the globe. From Seoul to Los Angeles, Lewisville to Mexico City, the documentary features a BTS-focused ReactorCon in Texas, a Korean dance instructor teaching BTS choreography, and long-time fans who have supported the group since their 2013 debut.

More than just a music documentary, the film explores the deeper emotional connections BTS fans have to the band and to each other. Themes of identity, belonging, and self-love are woven throughout, making it a story that resonates beyond fandom.
“There is no BTS without ARMY and no ARMY without BTS,” said co-directors Grace Lee and Patty Ahn. “We were constantly moved by the fans’ power, resilience, creativity and humor and hope audiences will be too.”
A Global Fandom Movement
Defying pop fan stereotypes, BTS’ ARMY is multi-generational, globally diverse, and deeply engaged in activism and community-building. The film showcases how ARMY’s spirit of collectivity has become a powerful force of positivity in an often divided world.
The film was produced by Eurie Chung, Grace Lee, Nora Chute, and Patty Ahn. Oscar winner Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom) served as executive producer alongside Caitrin Rogers and James Shin. Jerry Henry led the cinematography, and Andrew Orkin composed the music.
Forever We Are Young had its world premiere at SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas. It earned standing ovations and strong praise from both BTS fans and festivalgoers. The film has since made stops at international festivals including those in Copenhagen, Mexico, Hawaii, and Los Angeles.

BTS on the Big Screen
Trafalgar Releasing, which has previously brought BTS’ concerts and cinematic events to theaters, continues its partnership with the band’s global audience. With past BTS films achieving record-breaking box office results and repeat attendance, Forever We Are Young is expected to be another milestone in the ongoing celebration of BTS and their fans.
