New FX series Alien: Earth to explore humanity’s greatest threat.
FX is diving into the Alien universe with its latest original series, Alien: Earth. It is set to debut on Hulu in 2025. Noah Hawley created the series. He is the mastermind behind Fargo and Legion. This series promises to add fresh layers to the iconic franchise while keeping its terrifying, high-stakes atmosphere alive.
The plot centers around a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler. She finds herself thrust into a nightmare scenario after a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth. Teaming up with a group of tactical soldiers, she uncovers a shocking threat that could change the planet’s fate. With echoes of the original Alien films, the series is expected to explore the horror of alien life, the fragility of humanity, and the brutal consequences of space exploration. The ensemble cast features a wide range of international talent. Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, and Essie Davis are joining Chandler. Also featured are Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.

With Alien: Earth, they continue their streak of pushing boundaries in television. Hawley’s reputation for complex storytelling and the visceral terror that the Alien franchise is famous for making this a must-watch series for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Alien: Earth will be one of two major recent entries in the Alien saga, joining the film Alien Romulus, which is currently in theaters. Directed by Don’t Breathe’s Fede Álvarez, Alien Romulus tool the franchise boldly and gritty. These two projects signal a significant expansion for the Alien universe.
