‘Heads of State’ sets global premiere on Prime Video July 2.

Heads of State is a high-octane action-comedy starring Idris Elba and John Cena. It will premiere globally on Prime Video on July 2, 2025. It is directed by Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry, Nobody).
The film unites Elba and Cena as the UK Prime Minister and the President of the United States, respectively, who must put aside their egos and long-standing rivalry to take on a global conspiracy threatening the fate of the world.
The international adventure promises to deliver explosive action, globe-trotting thrills, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. It is all wrapped in the nostalgic charm of ‘90s buddy comedies. With its blend of slick stunts, sharp comedic banter, and cinematic chaos, Heads of State brings a throwback energy that feels fresh and full-throttle.
The film marks a reunion for Elba and Cena. They last shared the screen in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (2021). This time, however, they’re on the same side — probably. Joining the star-studded cast is Priyanka Chopra Jonas, alongside Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, Richard Coyle, and Paddy Considine.

Heads of State drops just in time for the July 4th holiday weekend. It will be the home summer blockbuster bursting with adrenaline, laughs, and international flair.
