Prime Video is gearing up to launch “Buy It Now” today! It is a fresh business competition series hosted by the charismatic J.B. Smoove, best known for his role as Leon on Curb Your Enthusiasm. This show offers a thrilling platform. Entrepreneurs pitch their products to an audience of 100 potential customers. They aim to win over a panel of celebrity judges and Amazon executives. If successful, contestants move on to present their ideas to secure a spot in Amazon’s exclusive Buy It Now Store and a chance to win $20,000 per episode.
Each contestant has just 90 seconds to impress the audience.
If they get enough green lights, they face a celebrity panel that includes notable figures like Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Anderson, and Tony Hawk. The selected products will be featured in the Buy It Now Store, which launches alongside the show. Viewers will enjoy the competition and have the chance to purchase the featured products directly after the pitches—thanks to a scannable QR code in each episode.
Smoove, an entrepreneur himself, expressed his excitement about hosting the show, stating, “I understand the journey. You gotta have a passion for what you do and sell yourself as well as your product.” He emphasized the equal opportunity given to contestants, whether they’re pitching groundbreaking innovations or quirky ideas. Reflecting on his character Leon, Smoove humorously imagined what he would pitch, quipping, “Oh, Leon got a ton of ideas! Tap water would be up there for sure!” He even joked about Leon’s unique product concepts, like the “Du Robe” and a wild drink he calls “Mildew,” a mix of milk and Mountain Dew.
The judging panel also includes Jamie Siminoff, founder of Ring, alongside rotating celebrity guests like Tabitha Brown. Smoove highlighted the excitement of the shopping experience, saying, “People love being able to buy products at the moment. You can literally still watch the show and buy the product you just saw.” His infectious enthusiasm promises a fun viewing experience for audiences eager to discover the latest and most exciting products.
As Smoove concluded, “Even if you don’t make it, your product is still being seen by millions of people.” “Buy It Now” is an entertaining blend of competition and entrepreneurship, ensuring every participant has the chance to shine—just like Smoove himself.
