Josh Wiggins Talks Working with Stallone in Thrilling New Movie Armor

Houston-born actor Josh Wiggins takes center stage in Armor, an intense action-packed thriller co-starring Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone and Jason Patric. Directed by Justin Routt and written by Adrian Speckert and Corey Todd Hughes.

The story follows James (Patric) and his son Casey (Wiggins), armored truck drivers tasked with delivering a mysterious package. A violent ambush traps them, forcing the duo to work together to uncover the package’s value and outsmart their relentless attackers. Stallone, portraying a rugged ally named Rook, adds his signature gravitas to this adrenaline-fueled narrative.

Speaking about his role in an interview, Wiggins shared his excitement about stepping into an action-heavy project. “I’ve never done anything quite like this,” he said. “Filming the intense scenes in the armored truck, from getting attacked to shooting guns, was an incredible experience. It was chaotic but thrilling.”

Though the film marks Wiggins’ first foray into the action genre, his collaboration with Stallone and Patric elevated the production. “Meeting Stallone was unforgettable,” Wiggins recalled. “Our first interaction was hilarious—he went to shake my hand, but I had fake blood on mine. He just laughed it off. He’s a true legend, and sharing even one scene with him was an honor.”

Wiggins also praised Jason Patric for their on-screen chemistry as a father-son duo navigating a fractured relationship. Wiggins noted that their dynamic evolved naturally during filming despite limited preparation time. “The characters’ estranged relationship mirrored our own discovery of each other’s acting styles, making it feel authentic,” he explained.

The production team made sure the action-packed scenes came together flawlessly. They shot the movie using Arri Alexa 35 cameras, which gives it some really impressive visuals that pull you right into the intense vibe. Plus, with Matt Harris’s special effects and Mason Cooper’s thrilling score, the film has a sleek, polished look and feel.

Armor represents a milestone for Wiggins, who has worked with acting heavyweights like Juliette Lewis and Thomas Haden Church early in his career. “It’s amazing to see my career come full circle, now sharing the screen with icons like Stallone and Patric,” he said.

The film is now, in theaters, on digital platforms, and on demand. With a runtime of 89 minutes and an R rating for violence and language, Armor promises a gripping experience.
