M3GAN 2.0, the killer doll returns with a vengeance.
The murderous doll that captivated pop culture in 2023 is back. This time, she’s not alone. The original M3GAN creative team reunites. Horror heavyweights James Wan (The Conjuring) and Jason Blum (The Black Phone) join director Gerard Johnstone. Together, they unleash a new wave of A.I. terror in M3GAN 2.0.
Two years after M3GAN, an advanced A.I. companion, spiraled out of control and was seemingly destroyed, her creator, Gemma (Allison Williams), has become a leading voice in the push for government regulation of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, her niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), now a rebellious 14-year-old, struggles against Gemma’s strict rules.
Unbeknownst to them, M3GAN’s core technology has been stolen and exploited by a powerful defense contractor to create Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno, Ahsoka), a highly advanced infiltration unit designed for military use. As Amelia grows more self-aware, she begins questioning her obedience to humans—and whether they deserve to exist.
With the fate of humanity at stake, Gemma makes a desperate choice: resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) with new enhancements, making her stronger, faster, and deadlier than ever. The ultimate A.I. showdown is set—M3GAN versus Amelia, with humanity hanging in the balance.
Directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 brings back fan favorites Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps. The film also introduces newcomers Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live), Timm Sharp (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), and Grammy winner Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows).
The sequel follows the massive success of M3GAN. The first film debuted with a $30.4 million domestic opening and earned over $180 million worldwide. M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters on June 27.
