Marvel Studios Unveils Star-Studded Cast for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ in Dramatic Fashion

Marvel brings back X-Men legends for ‘Avengers: Doomsday – See Who’s Returning!

Marvel Studios made waves Tuesday by unveiling the all-star cast for Avengers: Doomsday through a dramatic live event that left fans in awe. In a theatrical rollout, the studio placed empty director’s chairs on a stage one by one, each emblazoned with the name of an incoming cast member. The anticipation built with each reveal, starting with Chris Hemsworth, who reprises his role as Thor, and culminating in a show-stopping appearance from Robert Downey Jr.

Downey Jr., returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a surprising new role, emerged last, sat in his chair, and simply placed a finger to his lips, signaling secrecy about what’s to come.

The full cast list features a mix of returning Marvel veterans and fresh faces, setting the stage for what is expected to be one of the most ambitious ensemble films in the franchise’s history:

  • Paul Rudd as Ant-Man
  • Simu Liu as Shang-Chi
  • Tom Hiddleston as Loki
  • Lewis Pullman as Sentry
  • Florence Pugh as Yelena
  • Danny Ramirez as Falcon
  • Ian McKellen as Magneto
  • Sebastian Stan as Bucky
  • Winston Duke as M’Baku
  • Chris Hemsworth as Thor
  • Kelsey Grammer as Beast
  • James Marsden as Cyclops
  • Channing Tatum as Gambit
  • Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent
  • Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm
  • Rebecca Romijn as Mystique
  • Patrick Stewart as Professor X
  • Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler
  • Letitia Wright as Black Panther
  • Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor
  • Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards
  • Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost
  • Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm
  • David Harbour as Red Guardian
  • Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing
  • Anthony Mackie as Captain America

The reveal sent shockwaves across social media, with fans buzzing over the star-studded roster.

Downey Jr.’s casting as Doctor Doom remains a head-scratcher for many. It marks a dramatic departure from his iconic role as Tony Stark and fuels speculation about the film’s direction. Meanwhile, the return of legacy X-Men actors has only heightened excitement, sparking conversations about their place in the evolving MCU.

Marvel Studios has remained tight-lipped about plot details, but Avengers: Doomsday is expected to be a major crossover event integrating heroes from across the multiverse. The film is slated for release in May 2026, with more details expected to emerge at San Diego Comic-Con later this year.
