“I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” Cretton said. “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”

He apologized for his absence and explained that he was currently filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey alongside Matt Damon, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway.

“I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home,” Holland said, referencing the 2021 film that concluded with Peter Parker erased from the memories of his closest friends and allies. “So Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
The film’s title draws inspiration from the Brand New Day comic book arc.
It followed the controversial One More Day storyline. In the comics, Peter Parker makes a deal with Mephisto to erase his marriage to Mary Jane Watson in exchange for saving Aunt May’s life. Brand New Day introduced a Peter Parker unburdened by his past, navigating new challenges, foes, and relationships—a premise that could align with the MCU’s current trajectory for the character.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters on July 31, 2026. That is nearly three months after Avengers: Doomsday, which releases May 1, 2026. Sony and Marvel Studios have yet to announce additional casting details or plot specifics, but fans can expect further revelations in the coming months.
