Mediajuice Studios, an award-winning entertainment company based in Dallas, has announced plans to create a sequel to their hit documentary Video Games: The Movie on its tenth anniversary. The original film, written and directed by Jeremy Snead (Playing With Power: The Nintendo Story), was narrated by Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings) and featured a star-studded lineup of gaming celebrities and industry pioneers, such as Nolan Bushnell from Atari, Al Alcorn from Pong, Phil Spencer from Xbox, Wil Wheaton from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Donald Faison from Scrubs, and many others.

Since the original film was released in 2014, Snead and the team at Mediajuice Studios have been very active in the gaming documentary industry. They have produced multiple films and received recognition for docu-series such as “Unlocked: The World of Games, Revealed” and “Playing With Power: The Nintendo Story.” They are taking it to the next level with “Video Games: The Next Level.” This new documentary will delve deeper into the world of video games, a $350 billion global industry that has undergone remarkable changes over the past decade. Through cinematic storytelling, “Video Games: The Next Level” will explore the emergence of new gaming technologies, the growth of eSports, and the increasing impact of streaming platforms. It will also focus on developing virtual and augmented reality, which have expanded the boundaries of gaming as both entertainment and immersive experiences.

As with its predecessor, ‘Video Games: The Next Level’ will feature interviews with key industry figures, game developers, eSports champions, and celebrity streamers. The film will delve into gaming’s cultural impact, examining how it has become the dominant form of entertainment, storytelling, and social interaction.
