Chris Pratt’s AI Thriller Mercy Gets Official Home Video Release Date

Mercy turns an AI courtroom into a deadly fight for survival.

Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment have officially announced the home video release date for the sci-fi action thriller Mercy. The film stars Chris Pratt who we spoke with and Rebecca Ferguson in a tense, near-future story built around artificial intelligence, surveillance, and a race against time to prove innocence.

Following its theatrical debut earlier this year, Mercy is now preparing to arrive on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, giving audiences another chance to experience the high-tech thriller at home.

A Detective Must Convince an AI Judge

Mercy follows Detective Chris Raven, played by Pratt, who suddenly finds himself accused of murdering his wife. The twist is that his case will not be decided by a traditional courtroom.

Instead, Raven must stand trial before a powerful artificial intelligence system designed to deliver perfect justice. The AI Judge, portrayed by Ferguson, was once a project Raven strongly supported.

Now that same system will decide whether he lives or dies.

Raven has only 90 minutes to prove his innocence. If he fails to convince the AI judge, the system will carry out his execution.

A Real-Time Sci-Fi Thriller

Director Timur Bekmambetov brings a distinct visual style to Mercy, leaning heavily into a digital world of interconnected screens, surveillance feeds, and recorded evidence.

Every movement and every action leaves a trace in this future society. Cameras and networks have already documented Raven’s life in incredible detail. That means the detective is not just fighting a machine. He is also fighting the massive surveillance system that has captured everything he has ever done.

The result is a real-time thriller that unfolds like a digital investigation, blending elements of science fiction, crime drama, and high-stakes courtroom suspense. Read our review here.

A Strong Ensemble Cast

Alongside Pratt and Ferguson, the film features a strong supporting cast that helps drive the mystery forward. Kali Reis, Annabelle Wallis, Chris Sullivan, and Kylie Rogers round out the ensemble.

After opening at No. 1 at the box office on Jan. 23, Mercy continued to build momentum with audiences. Now fans can bring the thriller home.

Mercy arrives on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on April 7 and is available for preorder now.
