The much-anticipated Minecraft movie has finally dropped its first trailer, and fans of the world’s best-selling video game are in for a treat! Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures are bringing the beloved cubic universe to the big screen on April 4th, 2025, with A Minecraft Movie, the first-ever live-action adaptation of the hit game. Directed by Jared Hess (Nacho Libre), the movie features a stellar cast led by Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Jennifer Coolidge.

In A Minecraft Movie, four everyday misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks)—are pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld, the strange yet familiar world of Minecraft. Once there, they must rely on their creativity and teamwork to survive and find their way back home. Along the way, they’ll encounter familiar foes like Piglins and Zombies and must join forces with a surprising ally—Steve, played by none other than Jack Black. Watch the teaser trailer below!
