Netflix debuts first teaser for Pride and Prejudice starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden.
Netflix has officially unveiled the first teaser for its upcoming limited series adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. This first look offers fans a glimpse of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
The teaser introduces Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as the brooding Mr. Darcy. It also sets the tone for what promises to be a faithful retelling of Jane Austen’s timeless romance. The six-part limited series will launch in Autumn 2026.
In a year filled with regency-era storytelling, Pride and Prejudice is set to join the cultural “yearn-aissance,” bringing Austen’s iconic love story back to screens for longtime fans while introducing a new generation to Lizzie and Darcy’s unforgettable romance.
A Classic Story Reimagined
The series is written and executive-produced by Dolly Alderton. She is known for her work on Everything I Know About Love. It will be directed by Euros Lyn, who previously helmed episodes of Heartstopper.
When the full cast was revealed during production, Alderton shared her excitement about revisiting Austen’s beloved novel.
“Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life. With Euros Lyn directing our stellar cast, I am so excited to reintroduce these hilarious and complicated characters to those who count Pride and Prejudice as their favourite book, and those who are yet to meet their Lizzie and Mr Darcy.”
The adaptation is described as a faithful and classic take on Austen’s novel. It plans to stay true to the sharp social commentary, humor, and romance that have captivated readers for more than 200 years.
Interestingly, eagle-eyed fans in the UK recently spotted the teaser playing in cinemas ahead of screenings of Wuthering Heights. That sparked online buzz before Netflix’s official debut.

Alongside Corrin and Lowden, the ensemble features an impressive lineup of award-winning and rising talent.
Olivia Colman will portray Mrs. Bennet, with Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet. The Bennet sisters include Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet, and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.

Corrin will also serve as an executive producer on the project, marking their debut in the role. Additional executive producers include Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point, alongside Alderton and Lyn. Lisa Osborne produces.
A Timeless Romance Returns
Based on the novel by Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice remains one of the most widely read and adapted stories in literary history. Its sharp wit, social satire, and enduring love story between Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy have inspired countless writers and filmmakers over the centuries.
Now, Netflix aims to deliver a version that feels both classic and cinematic. It will lean into the emotional tension and romantic spark that have made Lizzie and Darcy one of literature’s most iconic couples.
With a powerhouse cast and a creative team that understands the weight of Austen’s legacy, this new adaptation is shaping up to be one of Autumn 2026’s most anticipated series debuts.
