ONE PIECE Season 2 Trailer Reveals “Rise of the Baroques” and a New Wave of Villains

Netflix teases bigger threats in ONE PIECE: INTO THE GRAND LINE.

Netflix is steering ONE PIECE into darker waters. On Monday, the streamer released the official “Rise of the Baroques” teaser for ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, giving fans a first real taste of Season 2’s next big threat.

This time, the spotlight lands on Baroque Works. The dangerous secret society of assassins promises to bring more planning, more traps, and more ruthless ambition than anything the Straw Hats have faced so far.

The live-action series stars Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Taz Skylar, Emily Rudd, and Jacob Romero Gibson. Season 2 sends the crew toward the Grand Line, a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder sit side by side.

Baroque Works brings bigger, badder villains

Season 1 introduced the crew and proved this adaptation could capture the heart of Eiichiro Oda’s world. Now, Season 2 looks ready to pressure-test that chemistry against enemies who operate like an organization, not a random band of pirates.

Netflix is leaning into that shift by teasing Baroque Works as the kind of force that can hit from every angle. It is a society built on secrecy, code names, and missions that rarely end clean.

Season 2 casting reveals key Baroque Works players

Netflix also confirmed several new cast members tied to the Baroque Works storyline. The list signals the show is diving deeper into the saga’s most iconic rival network.

Charithra Chandran will play Miss Wednesday. Lera Abova will play Miss All Sunday. David Dastmalchian will play Mr. 3. Camrus Johnson will play Mr. 5. Jazzara Jaslyn will play Miss Valentine. Daniel Lasker will play Mr. 9. Sophia Anne Caruso will play Miss Goldenweek.

That lineup puts a spotlight on colorful threats with very specific roles and very specific agendas.

The Grand Line raises the stakes

The Grand Line is not just a location change. It is a storytelling pivot. The seas grow more unpredictable. The islands get stranger. The opponents get smarter, and often crueler.

For Luffy, that means his big dreams will keep colliding with harsh reality. For the Straw Hats, it means loyalty and teamwork become survival tools, not just feel-good moments.

ONE PIECE remains a global powerhouse

Netflix’s live-action ONE PIECE is based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series of all time by Eiichiro Oda, with more than 100 volumes and 500 million copies sold worldwide. The franchise has a multigenerational fan base that keeps expanding.

When the series debuted in 2023, it became a global hit. It spent eight weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10. It reached No. 1 in more than 75 countries. Netflix also touted it as the first English-language Netflix series to debut at No. 1 in Japan.

The show later earned 11 Children’s and Family Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Young Teen Series. Season 3 is now in production.
