Pixar’s new comedy Hoppers introduces a fresh world of animals, tech, and heart.

Disney and Pixar have released a brand-new trailer for “Hoppers,” the studio’s upcoming original animated comedy arriving in theaters on March 6, 2026. The preview highlights an inventive story, a massive ensemble cast, and the kind of heartfelt humor fans expect from Pixar.

The film, directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, brings audiences into a world where animals talk back—literally—and where a teenager’s bold invention shakes up an entire ecosystem. The new trailer offers the most detailed look yet at the movie’s imaginative premise and ambitious character roster.
A Voice Cast Full of Heavy Hitters
“Hoppers” features one of Pixar’s biggest ensembles to date. Newly announced cast members include Meryl Streep as the Insect Queen, Dave Franco as Titus, Kathy Najimy as Dr. Sam, Eduardo Franco as Loaf, Melissa Villaseñor as Ellen, Ego Nwodim as the Fish Queen, Vanessa Bayer as Diane, Sam Richardson as Conner, Aparna Nancherla as Nisha, Nichole Sakura as the Reptile Queens, Isiah Whitlock Jr. as the Bird King, Steve Purcell as the Amphibian King, Karen Huie as Grandma Tanaka and Tom Law as Tom Lizard.
They join previously announced stars Piper Curda as Mabel, Bobby Moynihan as King George, and Jon Hamm as Mayor Jerry. Director Daniel Chong and producer Nicole Paradis Grindle praised the cast, saying the actors delivered “uproarious humor, heartfelt emotion, and crazy animal noises” that exceeded expectations.
A Story Built on Curiosity and Chaos
The trailer introduces Mabel, a tech-savvy animal lover who gains access to new technology that allows her to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver. For the first time, she can speak directly to animals—a discovery that begins as a dream come true and quickly spirals into a chaotic adventure.
As Mabel explores this hidden world, she uncovers mysteries and tensions shaping animal life far beyond anything she expected. Her actions soon catch the attention of local leaders, including King George and Mayor Jerry.
Leaders of the Pond and Beyond
Moynihan’s King George stands out as a spirited, larger-than-life beaver with an unwaveringly kind heart and a sense of responsibility to the mammal community. Meanwhile, Hamm’s Mayor Jerry—running for reelection in Beaverton—struggles to maintain his polished political persona as Mabel’s breakthroughs threaten his carefully controlled world.
Pixar’s Next Big Swing
“Hoppers” comes from Chong, best known for “We Bare Bears,” and looks to blend Pixar’s signature emotional storytelling with new comedic energy and world-building. With a massive cast, an inventive premise, and striking visuals teased in today’s trailer, the film is shaping up to be one of Pixar’s most ambitious releases in years.
