Prime Video Releases First-Look at Animated Series The Mighty Nein Featuring Ming-Na Wen, Alan Cumming, and Mark Strong

Critical Role and Titmouse bring fan-favorite saga The Mighty Nein to life on November 19.

Prime Video has released first-look images for The Mighty Nein, the highly anticipated animated series from Critical Role and Titmouse. The series premieres on November 19 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

A Story of Outcasts and Secrets

The Mighty Nein follows a band of fugitives and misfits, each scarred by their past and bound by dangerous secrets. When a powerful arcane relic known as “The Beacon” falls into the wrong hands, the group must overcome their differences and learn to work together before reality itself unravels.

Star-Studded Cast of New Characters

The series will feature an impressive lineup of talent, joining Critical Role’s original cast:

  • Ming-Na Wen as Dairon: A skilled martial artist and secret agent monk of the Cobalt Soul, Dairon becomes Beau’s mentor and trusted source of intel.
  • Anika Noni Rose as Marion Lavorre: Known as the Ruby of the Sea, Marion is a celebrated courtesan and performer at the Lavish Chateau in Nicodranas, as well as Jester’s protective mother.
  • Alan Cumming as Gustav Fletching: The eccentric ringmaster of the Fletching and Moondrop Traveling Carnival of Curiosities, Gustav provides a haven for outsiders like Mollymauk.
  • Tim McGraw as Vandran: A seasoned sea captain and father figure to Fjord, Vandran embodies both strength and compassion while shaping Fjord into a leader.
  • Mark Strong as Trent Ikithon: The manipulative Archmage of Civil Influence and Caleb’s former teacher, Ikithon secretly leads the Volstrucker, a ruthless squad of wizard assassins.
  • Auli’i Cravalho as Toya the Vivid Voice: A dramatic 13-year-old performer who controls a ferocious Devil Toad named Kylre with her haunting voice and lumino beetles.

Alongside the new cast, the series stars original Critical Role cast members reprising their iconic roles:

  • Taliesin Jaffe as Mollymauk “Molly” Tealeaf

Production Details

Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role, and Titmouse for Prime Video produce the Mighty Nein. The project continues Prime Video’s growing partnership with Critical Role, following the success of The Legend of Vox Machina.
