‘Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie’ streams on Netflix on August 2.
Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob SquarePants are gearing up for their biggest adventure yet in “Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.” It is set to stream on Netflix starting August 2. This animated feature promises to take fans on a wild ride as the duo leaves the underwater world of Bikini Bottom for the vast plains of Texas.
The plot kicks off when Bikini Bottom and all its beloved residents are abruptly scooped out of the ocean.
Sandy Cheeks, the resourceful and brave squirrel voiced by Carolyn Lawrence, takes charge. Alongside her, SpongeBob SquarePants, brought to life by Tom Kenny’s iconic voice, joins the mission to uncover the villainous plot behind their town’s abduction and bring it back to its rightful place in the sea. Returning to their roles are Bill Fagerbakke as the lovable, dim-witted Patrick Star, Mr. Lawrence as the scheming Plankton, and Rodger Bumpass as the ever-grumpy Squidward Tentacles. In addition to the awesome cast, Johnny Knoxville is the voice of Randy Cheeks, Sandy’s brother, bringing his own cool vibe to the character. Craig Robinson voices Pa Cheeks, and Grey Griffin does a great job voicing multiple characters, including Ma Cheeks, Granny Cheeks, Rowdy Cheeks, and Rosie Cheeks. Newcomers Ilia Isorelys Paulino and Matty Cardarople join the franchise as Phoebe and in a live-action role as Kyle. Comedian Wanda Sykes also jumps in as Sue Nahmee, adding her unique humor to the mix.
