The Scary Movie 6 trailer is officially here, and the Wayans family is not holding back.
Set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026, the next chapter in the long-running parody franchise reunites the original chaos crew for a full-scale takedown of modern horror. This time, nothing is safe. Reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, legacy sequels, and “final chapters” that are never actually final all get dragged into the spotlight.
Paramount Pictures presents the film in association with Miramax, marking a major return for the franchise that helped define early 2000s comedy.
Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall Reunite
Twenty-six years after running from a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four are back. Marlon Wayans returns as Shorty, Shawn Wayans is back as Ray, Anna Faris reprises her role as Cindy, and Regina Hall returns as Brenda.
The trailer teases that the gang once again finds itself in the crosshairs of a masked killer, with clear nods to Ghostface-style slasher tropes. However, the real target is the horror industry itself. From prestige “elevated horror” to endless cinematic universes, the movie promises to slice through every trend that has dominated theaters and streaming in recent years.
The Wayans are also leaning into the cultural conversation. The tagline makes it clear: they are back to cancel Cancel Culture.

Michael Tiddes directs the film, guiding the ensemble through what looks like the most meta entry yet.
A Massive Ensemble Cast Joins the Chaos
Alongside the returning stars, the cast includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Heidi Gardner, Lochlyn Munro, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, and Sydney Park.
The trailer hints at horror cameos, exaggerated horror references, and sharp fourth-wall breaks. It also appears to poke fun at recent horror franchises that lean heavily into legacy branding and interconnected storytelling.
What the Scary Movie 6 Trailer Promises
There are clear digs at prestige horror films, cinematic universes, and studios that keep rebooting the same IP. Moreover, the tone feels closer to the original Scary Movie energy. Physical comedy, outrageous dialogue, and unapologetic humor dominate the trailer. For longtime fans, that return to form will likely be the biggest selling point.
With horror continuing to dominate the box office, the timing makes sense. Audiences have seen countless reboots and sequels in recent years. Now, the franchise that built its name on parodying slashers and supernatural hits is back to roast the entire genre ecosystem.
