Disney Celebrates The Lion King’s 30th Anniversary with Simple Plan’s New Single

Celebrate The Lion King’s 30th anniversary with Simple Plan’s “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.”

Disney just dropped their new single from the upcoming album “A Whole New Sound.” Simple Plan, one of my favorite bands that I grew up loving, covered “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” from “The Lion King” to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. You can listen to this pop-punk version on all streaming platforms like Amazon, Spotify, and Apple Music. It’s a fresh take on a beloved classic, and just like the original, which I absolutely loved, is timeless. This rendition from a band I grew up loving brings out all the emotions, proving the power of the lyrics. Listen below!

“We wanted to pay homage to Sir Elton John’s original version while also adding our own style to it and making it sound fun and energetic. We’re really stoked by how it turned out, and we hope everyone will enjoy it.”

“A Whole New Sound” features Mickey Mouse and his friends teaming up with bands.

With the help of various alternative, rock, and pop-punk bands, they reimagine popular Disney songs. The full album and vinyl will be available later this year. Mickey Mouse an avid music fan, was inspired to create this new album for fans of all generations. His extensive record collection influenced the project, bringing together modern bands to breathe new life into classic Disney hits.

The new album artwork featuring Mickey & Friends was revealed today with a fresh new look. Mickey has greatly influenced music, debuting in the first animation with synchronized sound. His on-screen appearances always come with popular music from different genres. On August 9, 2024, the band Simple Plan will perform their version of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” at D23. This performance will be part of an amazing experience for Disney’s most dedicated fans.

“We grew up watching Disney movies with our families, and now we get to enjoy them with our own kids, so it’s pretty amazing to have been invited to be on this album,” said Simple Plan, echoing the sentiments of many of their fans.

Mickey and his friends, including Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Pluto, have always been immersed in popular culture. Fans can expect to see them in even more exciting and unexpected places as they explore their interests in fun new ways.
