Snack Shack Stars Gabriel LaBelle, and Connor Sherry Talk Summer Jobs, Spending Money On Taco Bell

“Snack Shack” is a delicious dive into nostalgia.

“Snack Shack” is a coming-of-age film that takes the audience back to the summer of 1991 in Nebraska City. The film, directed by Adam Rehmeier and featuring a talented ensemble cast, captures the essence of a carefree summer filled with relatable characters and memorable moments.

The story revolves around best friends AJ (played by Conor Sherry) and Moose (portrayed by Gabriel LaBelle). Their plans to strike it rich take a detour when they find themselves running the local pool’s snack shack. Conor Sherry, known for his roles in “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” and “The Terminal List,” brings depth to the character of AJ, while Gabriel LaBelle, recognized for his work in “The Fabelmans,” infuses Moose with charm and authenticity. Watch my interview with them below as they reflect on their roles and provide insights into the characters.

The arrival of summer visitor Brooke (portrayed by Mika Abdalla) injects a new dynamic into their lives. Abdalla’s portrayal of the effortlessly cool lifeguard adds depth to the narrative, as her presence challenges the friendship between AJ and Moose. As they navigate the complexities of friendship and summer romance, the characters come alive, drawing viewers into their world. “Snack Shack” is a testament to Adam Rehmeier’s storytelling skills and ability to understand teens. The film captures the essence of a bygone era. It invites audiences to reminisce about a time before cell phones and social media. The attention to detail in recreating the summer of 1991 adds authenticity to the narrative, immersing viewers in a world filled with nostalgia and laughter.

Verdict

I give “Snack Shack” 4 out of 5 stars. It is a delightful cinematic experience, offering audiences a nostalgic trip down memory lane and a heartfelt coming-of-age tale. With its engaging storyline, memorable characters, and stellar performances, this film will leave a lasting impression on viewers long after the credits roll. Catch “Snack Shack” exclusively in theaters starting March 15th.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
