The launch of Soapstone Comedy – NYC kicks off The Soapstone Comedy Club’s summer LaughFest headliner series. It all starts with comedian Katie Hannigan (NY). She’ll be followed by a lineup of comedians including Keith McGill (KY), Mayce Galoni (CA), Paula Kosienski (TN), and Gabby Bryan (NY). The performances were originally filmed at Gilda’s LaughFest in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Now they are brought to life in VR, giving fans a front-row experience through their Meta avatars.

Additional performers this season include Michele Miller, Tommy Ryman, Andrew Orolfo, Steven Rodgers, and more.

“The Soapstone is rooted in community and embracing individuals from all across the globe,” said Aaron Sorrels, founder and world creator of The Soapstone Comedy Club. “Bringing The Soapstone virtually to New York City, one of the world’s most iconic comedy capitals, made perfect sense for the next chapter of our community as we continue to reshape the live entertainment experience in Meta Horizon, where audiences connect through laughter in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.”

Meta Quest headset owners ages 18 and up can subscribe to the Soapstone Comedy Presents series through the RSVP page on Meta Horizon. It is available at horizon.meta.com or the Meta Horizon mobile app. Younger players ages 10 and up can explore Soapstone Comedy – Hanalei Bay. It is another world inside Meta Horizon, inspired by Hawaii’s Kauai island, offering a more relaxed virtual vibe.

In addition to regular shows, The Soapstone also hosts weekly $1,000 Spotlight Auditions. Up-and-coming comedians and vocalists can compete for a $1,000 gig and a featured spot in a headliner show. The Soapstone Comedy Club continues pushing the boundaries of virtual entertainment. Blending live comedy, music, and cutting-edge VR technology has created a unique community experience.
