Spider-Gwen Swings Back With GIANT-SIZE Spectacle

Giant-Size Spider-Gwen #1 arrives March 3rd, 2024.

Marvel fans were treated to exciting news during the Marvel: Amazing Spider-Man – Gang War Panel at L.A. Comic Con. Writer Melissa Flores announced that the Spider-Gwen universe is expanding with the release of SPIDER-GWEN: SMASH limited series, followed by a GIANT-SIZE SPIDER-GWEN #1 one-shot in March. This announcement marks Marvel’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Giant-Size storytelling of the 1970s, promising an oversized spectacular that will take fans back to the earth-shattering tales that defined Marvel’s mythos.

The comic book GIANT-SIZE SPIDER-GWEN #1 is part of a series that includes GIANT-SIZE SPIDER-MAN #1 by Cody Ziglar and Iban Coello and GIANT-SIZE FANTASTIC FOUR #1 by Fabian Nicieza and Creees Lee. The story is written by Flores and illustrated by Alba Glez. It takes place in Gwen Stacy’s home dimension. Gwen’s peaceful life is disrupted when the remnants of the Carnage symbiote return and take over her bandmate, Mary Jane. This attracts the attention of Orlando Octavius, the sinister adopted son of Dr. Octopus.

In the latest Spider-Gwen saga, Orlando Octavius has his eyes set on Mary Jane. Spider-Gwen takes on an array of new and terrifying villains to save her friend. This oversized spectacle will introduce readers to the most sinister threats of Earth-65, including a new Doc Ock. It promises to be a riveting addition to the Spider-Gwen series. With this eagerly awaited one-shot, Marvel fans can anticipate an epic continuation of the Spider-Gwen legacy. It will feature a cover by superstar artist Bryan Hitch and include a reprint of a classic adventure from its titular star, SPIDER-GWEN #13 (2015).
