Bill Hader is The Cat in the Hat.

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has finally released the first trailer for The Cat in the Hat. This marks the mischievous feline’s first-ever full-length animated movie on the big screen. Bill Hader will voice the iconic Dr. Seuss character. He is set to bring a fresh, irreverent spin on the beloved Cat that generations have grown up with.
A Whimsical, Irreverent Adventure
Staying true to Dr. Seuss’s wonderfully wacky style, the film follows the Cat on an all-new, epic adventure that’s bursting with magic, mischief, and mayhem. This time around, the Cat in the Hat works for the I.I.I.I. (Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC) and is tasked with cheering up siblings Gabby and Sebastian, who are struggling to adjust after moving to a new town.

But with the Cat’s signature knack for turning everything upside down, this could be his last shot to prove himself worthy of his magical hat—or risk losing it forever.
A Star-Studded Voice Cast
Joining Hader in this colorful adventure are Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess. The Cat in the Hat is co-directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, and it’s the first full-length feature film from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.
When Does The Cat in the Hat Hit Theaters?
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see the Cat stir up chaos on the big screen. The Cat in the Hat will premiere in theaters and IMAX across North America on February 27, 2026.
