Apple TV+ is bringing a new survival thriller to screens this fall. The Last Frontier, starring and executive produced by Jason Clarke, will debut globally on Friday, October 10, 2025. The series kicks off with two episodes and continues weekly, every Friday, through December 5. The tense, action-packed drama promises suspense, shocking turns, and a chilling conspiracy deep in the Alaskan wilderness.
A prison crash sparks chaos in Alaska.
At the heart of The Last Frontier is Frank Remnick, played by Clarke. Remnick serves as the only U.S. marshal in a rugged Alaskan town. His job is already demanding, but disaster strikes when a prison transport plane crashes in the unforgiving wilderness. The crash unleashes dozens of violent inmates into his jurisdiction. With lives at risk, Remnick must act fast to defend his community.
As he hunts the escaped prisoners, Remnick uncovers evidence that changes everything. The crash may not be random. Instead, it could mark the start of a well-crafted plan with dangerous implications reaching far beyond Alaska. Clarke’s character faces a relentless battle for survival and justice in a story layered with suspense and action.
A powerhouse ensemble cast
The cast joining Clarke features familiar names across film and television. Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, and Tait Blum are part of the ensemble. Academy Award nominee and multiple Emmy winner Alfre Woodard will also be playing a pivotal role in the unfolding drama.
Behind the scenes, the series comes from co-creators Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio. Both serve as executive producers and writers. Clarke also produces, alongside Laura Benson, Glenn Kessler, Albert Kim, and director Sam Hargrave, known for his action expertise on projects like Extraction.
Release details and expectations
The Last Frontier spans ten episodes. With each installment, Apple TV+ aims to keep viewers hooked through tense storytelling and thrilling confrontations. The series blends survival themes with crime drama, anchored by Clarke’s commanding performance.
Audiences can stream the first two episodes exclusively on Apple TV+ starting October 10, followed by new episodes weekly.
