The Penguin and Severance steal the show.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which are the first notable weekend during Emmys season, were held September 6th and 7th. Many celebrities made their appearances for their highly praised projects. And while there was a lot to celebrate, one show really swept the Creative Arts Emmys this year! Keep reading to find out which show, and the other honorable wins of the night!
The DC show that waddled away with Creative Arts victories
The Penguin is a spinoff of the 2022 film The Batman. Colin Farrell had all eyes on his remarkable performance as the comic book villain, and wowed audiences even more with his performance as Oswald, or Oz, Cobblepot. For the Creative Arts Emmys, the show swept the awards with EIGHT wins. This included Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for A Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, and more. This comes after Matt Reeves confirmed he and his team finally finished the sequel (The Batman II) script.
HBO Max Adds to Its Tally
HBO Max also took home two additional wins with their other hit show, The Pitt, winning Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Actor Shawn Hatosy (and self-proclaimed part-time TikTok influencer) took home the Emmy for that category, making it his first Emmy win in his career.
For comedy, The Studio won NINE Emmys for their project. Actor Bryan Cranston won for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, and they also won in the Cinematography categories.
Actress Julie Andrews also won her first Emmy for her voiceover in Bridgerton. And for Severance, which is the most nominated project this season, it took home six of the Creative Arts Emmys, with Merritt Weaver winning Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Cinematography for a Series, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series, and more.
The Creative Arts Emmys set the stage for next week’s main ceremony, where even more competitive categories will be decided. With The Penguin, The Studio, and Severance leading the charge, the 2025 Primetime Emmys promise an unforgettable night.
