The Strangers haunt the West Coast on a sinister promo tour.
The masked trio from The Strangers franchise made a chilling mark at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. The Strangers – Chapter 2 was spotlighted during a Ballroom 20 panel. It featured actor Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale), director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Exorcist: The Beginning), and producer Courtney Solomon (After).
The panel offered fans an exclusive first look at the upcoming horror sequel, which continues the story from Chapter 1. It raises the stakes for its returning lead character, Maya, played by Petsch.
In addition to the panel, the film’s marketing campaign brought the masked killers on a chilling road trip down the West Coast. Dubbed the “Strangers Roadtrip,” the film’s red-and-white pickup truck traveled from Oregon to San Diego before the convention. Fans spotted the masked figures in eerie moments shared on social media, appearing at gas stations, motels, and other public places. These sightings quickly went viral, building suspense and buzz around the sequel’s return to theaters this fall.
A Brutal New Chapter Begins
The Strangers – Chapter 2 is directed by Renny Harlin and written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, the screenwriting duo behind Due Date and King of the Hill. The film stars Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent, Super 8), and Ema Horvath (What Lies Below, Don’t Look Deeper).
Synopsis: The Strangers are back—more brutal and relentless than ever. When they learn that Maya (Petsch), one of their intended victims, is still alive, they return to finish what they started. With nowhere to run and no one to trust, Maya must survive another horrific chapter as the masked intruders hunt her, stopping at nothing and killing anyone who stands in their way.

The Strangers – Chapter 2 opens in theaters September 26, 2025.
