Unrated Trailer for The Toxic Avenger Unleashes Gory Mayhem

The official unrated trailer for The Toxic Avenger has arrived. It’s every bit as over-the-top, grotesque, and gloriously chaotic as fans of the cult classic could hope for.

The reboot is from director and writer Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore). It stars Peter Dinklage as Winston Gooze, a down-on-his-luck janitor who is transformed into a mutated antihero after a catastrophic toxic accident. Now radioactive and raging with a sense of justice, Toxie takes on corrupt corporations and vicious villains to protect his son, his friends, and his entire community.

Legendary Entertainment produces this updated version. It is based on Lloyd Kaufman’s 1984 original film of the same name, which became a Troma cult sensation thanks to its low-budget gore, slapstick tone, and unfiltered B-movie charm. Blair’s vision cranks up the chaos, delivering hard-R violence, practical effects, and a surprising dose of heart.

The star-studded cast includes Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Taylour Paige, Jacob Tremblay, and Jane Levy. The trailer teases a barrage of gruesome fights, outrageous transformations, and plenty of radioactive slime. Watch the trailer below!

The original Toxic Avenger was never shy about pushing boundaries, and this reboot honors that spirit while injecting new life into the franchise. With modern visuals and unapologetically wild action, this version looks to reintroduce Toxie to a whole new generation of gorehounds.

The Toxic Avenger hits theaters this August. And yes—justice is still best served radioactive.
