Danielle Deadwyler faces her fears in The Woman in the Yard.

Horror fans, prepare for a spine-chilling experience. Blumhouse unleashes its latest supernatural thriller, The Woman in the Yard. The movie hits theaters on March 28. The film stars BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall). It promises a gripping exploration of grief, survival, and terror.
The story follows Ramona (Deadwyler), a woman grappling with the devastating aftermath of a car accident that claimed her husband’s life, played by Russell Hornsby (BMF, Fences). Physically injured and emotionally shattered, Ramona must care for their two children—a 14-year-old son (Peyton Jackson, Respect) and a 6-year-old daughter (Estella Kahiha, Will Trent)—in their isolated farmhouse.
The family’s fragile world takes a sinister turn when a mysterious woman, cloaked entirely in black, appears unannounced on their lawn. Uttering only a cryptic warning—”today’s the day”—the figure’s presence soon escalates into a haunting ordeal. As the woman (Okwui Okpokwasili, The Exorcist: Believer) inches closer to the house, it becomes evident that her motives are far from innocent. Ramona must summon her strength to protect her family from this spectral menace who refuses to leave.

The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
He is known for Black Adam and Jungle Cruise. The screenplay marks the feature debut of writer Sam Stefanak, whose chilling narrative explores the intersection of trauma and terror. The Woman in the Yard is produced by horror powerhouse Jason Blum (The Invisible Man, Wolf Man and The Black Phone).
