Who Should Voice Rosalina in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Top Picks of who should voice Rosalina for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Rosalina is an indescribable character in the Super Mario Universe (indescribable because, if we took the time to describe the complexities and majesty of her character, it would take up multiple pages) and is expected to be featured in the new Super Mario Galaxy movie. Her introduction into the Super Mario universe was, in fact, as a celestial being in the Super Mario Galaxy video games. She was both a queen and a mother, watching over the lumas (animated star characters) from her observatory. So, for the new film, with her casting not yet confirmed, just who would be fit to voice her? We think there are a few good candidates.

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson‘s voice not only matches Rosalina’s in tone, but she also has a history of voice acting. The world’s highest-grossing actress has also lent her talents offscreen to the animated films Sing and Sing 2, voicing Ash, a porcupine. And overall, it’s safe to say Johansson has the same celestial and radiant aura as this iconic video game character. This would also be a major pull for audience members.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone has recently made even more headlines for herself with “Bugonia” being shown at the Venice Film Festival. While she has a long history of acting, like Johansson, she also has voice acting on her resume. She famously voiced Eep in DreamWorks’ films The Croods and The Croods 2. And her voice also matches the video game characters in a similar fashion of tone, so this casting could also be a hit.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has famously voiced Tigress from the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. And while her most recent work has been for Broadway as the lead producer for The Outsiders play, her next project could be voicing Rosalina. With the same octave in voice, and of course, with Jolie’s poise and grace, it would definitely be a casting that would attract moviegoers.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence has also been seen at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year, promoting her new film Die, My Love. However, she is also a potential voice that would be perfect to voice a beloved video game character. Now, this would be her first voice acting role in ten years, as she narrated a documentary titled A Beautiful Planet. However, in a way, the documentary title almost embodies this new potential role for Super Mario Galaxy.

Rebecca Romjin

Previously interviewed by Nerdtropolis, X-Men star Rebecca Romijn would also be a fantastic choice to voice this otherworldly, majestic video game character in the Super Mario Universe. She voiced Lois Lane in the DCU and also has experience in children’s voice acting. She partook in voicing Miss Garcia in Special Agent Oso (we know, 2000s flashbacks) and the Empress in Adventure Time. Given her already iconic voice acting history, she could definitely be a good choice for Rosalina.

With the new Super Mario Galaxy movie leaving video game and Nintendo fans more than eager, no matter who voices her, everyone will be enthusiastic to welcome her into the film world of the franchise.
