Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to Christmas movies alongside Alan Ritchson in Prime Video’s holiday heist adventure.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is heading back to the Christmas genre, but this time he is trading holiday shopping chaos for the red suit itself.
Prime Video has revealed new details for THE MAN WITH THE BAG, a holiday action comedy starring Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus alongside Recaher star Alan Ritchson as a thief recruited for a Christmas-saving heist.
The movie marks Schwarzenegger’s return to a major Christmas film roughly 30 years after the release of Jingle All the Way. Instead of chasing down the season’s hottest toy, Schwarzenegger is now playing the man responsible for delivering them.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Becomes Santa Claus
In The Man With The Bag, Christmas is thrown into jeopardy after Santa’s iconic red bag is stolen by a rogue elf with a grudge, played by Awkwafina.
With Christmas Eve approaching, Santa needs someone capable of stealing the bag back. His solution is to turn to the Naughty List and recruit Vance, a professional thief played by Ritchson.
Vance assembles a crew of criminally skilled misfits to pull off an unlikely holiday heist. His daughter also joins the mission, while elves and reindeer help the group attempt to recover Santa’s bag before Christmas is ruined.
The setup brings together the action backgrounds of Schwarzenegger and Ritchson with a holiday adventure built around comedy, magic, and a high-stakes heist.
Ritchson has become one of Prime Video’s biggest action stars through Reacher, while Schwarzenegger remains one of the most recognizable action icons in movie history. The Man With The Bag gives the two a chance to combine that screen presence with a much lighter Christmas story.
The Man With The Bag Cast Brings Together Comedy And Action
The supporting cast includes Berkeley James, Michael Cyril Creighton, Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney and Jane Krakowski, with Ken Jeong and Awkwafina.
Adam Shankman directed The Man With The Bag from a screenplay written by Allan Rice. Shankman previously directed films including Hairspray, The Pacifier and Disenchanted.
THE MAN WITH THE BAG premieres globally on Prime Video December 2, 2026.
