The new ‘Avatar’ series ‘Seven Havens’ will reveal the next Avatar after Korra.

Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced Avatar: Seven Havens, an all-new animated series set in the beloved world of The Last Airbender. The series is created by Avatar veterans Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It marks the next chapter in the franchise, taking place after the events of The Legend of Korra.
Set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, Seven Havens follows a young Earthbender who discovers she is the new Avatar after Korra. However, in this dangerous era, the Avatar is no longer seen as humanity’s savior but as its destroyer. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and fight to protect the Seven Havens—civilization’s last strongholds—before they fall into ruin.
The 2D animated series will span 26 half-hour episodes across two seasons.
The Avatar franchise began in 2005 with The Last Airbender. It followed Aang, the last surviving Airbender, as he embraced his destiny as the Avatar to restore balance to a world at war. The series, which blended Eastern philosophy, martial arts, and rich worldbuilding, became a cultural phenomenon. In 2012, The Legend of Korra continued the story with Aang’s successor, Korra, who faced political and spiritual challenges in a rapidly modernizing world.

The announcement of Seven Havens follows Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ previously revealed untitled animated Avatar film, set to debut in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026. The film will center on Aang and his friends as young adults, featuring a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and Eric Nam in his voice-acting debut.
With Seven Havens, the franchise looks to continue its legacy of powerful storytelling and immersive world-building, bringing fans back to the elements once more.
