Beverly Hills, 90210 Marks 35 Years With 4K Digital Release

Darren Star reflects as Beverly Hills, 90210 gets 4K digital debut.

October 4 marks the 35th anniversary of Beverly Hills, 90210, the hit ‘90s teen drama that became a worldwide sensation. To celebrate, Paramount Home Entertainment will release all 10 seasons of the series, along with a complete series bundle, in 4K Ultra High Definition for the first time on Digital on October 20.

The series, created by Darren Star, premiered on October 4, 1990, and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Starring Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Luke Perry, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling, the show followed a close-knit group of friends navigating the pressures of adolescence and early adulthood in the affluent community of Beverly Hills.

Star reflected on the milestone, saying it’s hard to believe the show has been on the pop culture landscape for 35 years. “I’m so proud of the show’s lasting impact,” he said, adding that he remains grateful to the cast, crew, and loyal fans who “have kept its legacy alive.”

Restored in 4K UHD

All episodes have been fully remastered from the original film elements. It features enhanced color grading, modern sound remastering, and updated aspect ratios. The release gives longtime fans and new audiences the chance to revisit the series with unprecedented clarity and quality.

A Look Back at the Series

Beverly Hills, 90210 originally centered on twins Brandon (Priestley) and Brenda Walsh (Doherty) as they adjusted to life after moving from Minnesota to Beverly Hills. Over its 10-season run, the series delved into themes of love, betrayal, addiction, family struggles, and the transition from high school to college and adulthood.

Each season tackled timely issues while also delivering memorable romances, shocking cliffhangers, and dramatic rivalries. The show became a launchpad for its young cast and spawned multiple spin-offs, including Melrose Place, 90210, and the meta-reunion BH90210.

Legacy

By combining glossy teen escapism with grounded social themes, Beverly Hills, 90210 cemented itself as one of the defining shows of the 1990s. Its success helped shape the teen drama genre and paved the way for later hits such as Dawson’s Creek, The O.C., and Riverdale.

With the full series arriving in 4K UHD this October, fans can once again immerse themselves in the drama of television’s most famous zip code.
