Cricket Green talks BIG CITY GREENS Season 5, his favorite adventures, TikTok fame, MrBeast, what he nerds out over and why Robert Pattinson should play him in a movie.
BIG CITY GREENS is back for Season 5, and before Cricket Green jumps into another round of wild adventures with his family, Nerdtropolis got the chance to speak directly with the mischievous 10-year-old himself.
The hit Disney animated series follows Cricket, an endlessly optimistic country kid whose curiosity often sends him, his older sister Tilly, father Bill, and Gramma Alice into unexpected situations across Big City. Season 5 promises some of the Green family’s biggest adventures yet, with the first five episodes debuting on Disney Channel before becoming available on Disney+ the following day.
During my conversation with Cricket, we looked back at some of his favorite adventures, talked about his growing TikTok fame, and discovered what he nerds out over. He also revealed his dream celebrity collaboration, planned the ultimate Green family vacation and made a surprising choice for the Hollywood actor he believes should play him on the big screen.
Cricket Green Reveals His Favorite BIG CITY GREENS Adventure
After years of BIG CITY GREENS, narrowing down Cricket’s favorite adventure is no easy task. After all, the Green family has gone much farther than the boundaries of Big City.
“We did go to space. I mean, there was that. We went to space. That was awesome,” Cricket told me.
Still, Cricket explained that the smaller adventures can be just as memorable. He recalled taking his family to Crispy’s and offering to pay for their meal, only for things to spiral out of control when he failed to read the fine print.
“I ended up having to eat this giant sundae, like a mountain of ice cream, like more ice cream than you’ve ever seen in your life,” Cricket said. “And I had to eat the whole thing.”
For Cricket, apparently, eating an enormous amount of ice cream can compete with traveling to space.
Fame And TikTok Have Changed Cricket Green’s Life
BIG CITY GREENS has made Cricket something of a celebrity, although he does not necessarily see himself that way.
“I don’t really think of myself that way, but I have always wanted to be famous because, you know, I just kind of hate introducing myself to people, and it saves a lot of time if people already know who you are,” Cricket joked.
His fame has even extended to TikTok. Cricket said Remy lets him borrow his phone so he can make videos under the @RealCricketGreen handle. When I asked who he would like to collaborate with, Cricket mentioned Itchaboy before addressing another popular suggestion.
“People are telling me, they’re like, you should collab with MrBeast,” Cricket said. “And I’m like, a beast? No, thank you. I don’t want to collab with an actual beast. I would like to collab with a human being.”
Someone may need to explain that one to Cricket before the collaboration opportunity disappears.
What Does Cricket Green Nerd Out Over?
At Nerdtropolis, there was one question I had to ask: What does Cricket Green nerd out over?
The answer is Galaxoo, something Remy introduced him to.
“That has kinda gripped me lately. It’s really fun, I finally get it,” Cricket explained.
Cricket admitted that he is not much of a collector because he tends to lose things. Instead, he enjoys visiting Remy’s collection and touching his cards, despite Remy’s requests that he wash his hands first.
Cricket also revealed his go-to movie theater snack: Lemonheads. His reasoning could not be more appropriate.
“They’re big, they’re yellow. And a little sour, and I just relate to that,” Cricket said.
Cricket Green Wants Robert Pattinson To Play Him
The conversation eventually turned to Hollywood. I asked Cricket who should play him if his life were ever turned into a full-blown movie.
His answer was immediate: “I’m gonna go with Robert Pattinson. I like his energy, man,” Cricket said.
Cricket believes Pattinson already has the face and could pull off his signature hairstyle. There would, however, need to be one important addition to complete the transformation.
“They would have to strap some big ol’ horse teeth on ’em,” Cricket joked while acknowledging that his teeth are a defining part of his look.
Naturally, Pattinson’s connection to Batman led to the question of whether Cricket would dress as the DC hero for Halloween. Instead, Cricket has his sights set on one of those optical illusion costumes that makes it appear as though someone — or perhaps a giant chicken — is carrying him away.
BIG CITY GREENS Season 5 Brings More Green Family Adventures
Season 5 continues the adventures of Cricket and the Green family with Chris Houghton voicing Cricket Green, Marieve Herington as Tilly Green, Bob Joles as Bill Green, Artemis Pebdani as Gramma Alice, Wendi McLendon-Covey as Nancy Green, Zeno Robinson as Remy and Anna Akana as Gloria.
The season also features an impressive lineup of guest stars, including Stephen King, Luke Combs, Dylan Sprouse, Megan Stalter, Chad Michael Murray, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Matt Gourley, Sona Movsesian, Aaron Bleyaert, Martha Kelly, Steve Schirripa and Mike Colter.
Before wrapping our conversation, Cricket delivered the announcement himself.
“We got new episodes coming out on Disney Channel August 21st, and then they drop on Disney+ the next day,” Cricket said.
The first five episodes of BIG CITY GREENS Season 5 premiered August 21 on Disney Channel and arrived the following day on Disney+. Additional episodes will continue rolling out throughout the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
As for Cricket’s next big adventure, he now has an open invitation to visit Nerdtropolis. There was only one problem: He wanted to know exactly where Nerdtropolis was located.
I told him it was at the center of the Earth, conveniently matching one of his dream vacation destinations.
“Mystery solved. I’ll be there, man,” Cricket responded.
