We have our first look at Xolo Maridueña as DC’s Blue Beetle. It is currently in production. The DC film is from director Angel Manuel Soto. This is the first solo Latino-led superhero film. Xolo plays Mexican American teen Jaime Reyes. Reyes is the third individual to bear the name Blue Beetle. He was given a Scarab that grants him the incredible alien armor. The film also stars Harvey Guillén, Bruna Marquezine, and Belissa Escobedo, Milagro Reyes, George Lopez, Adrianna Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, and Damián Alcázar. It will be in theaters on August 18th, 2023.
