Blumhouse brings its horror icons to VR with new Meta Horizon World, the Blumhouse Horrorverse.
Horror fans, get ready to scream—from the comfort of your VR headset or phone. The Blumhouse Horrorverse officially launches today on Meta Quest and across Meta Horizon. Users are invited into a chilling new world inspired by some of Blumhouse’s most iconic films.
The Blumhouse Horrorverse offers an immersive and social experience unlike any other. Created in collaboration with Emmy Award-winning studio ARVORE and Monks, the virtual space drops users into a fog-filled forest leading to the eerie and towering Blumhouse itself.
Once inside, the real nightmare begins.
At the heart of the horrorverse lies Survival Lockdown. It is a multiplayer game in which up to seven players become survivors while one is randomly chosen to be the villain. As survivors, players must work together to locate keycards and end the house-wide lockdown. Meanwhile, the villain, who could take on the form of horror icons like M3GAN, Babyface from Happy Death Day, or Lady Liberty from The Purge, is out to eliminate each survivor before they can escape.
The horrorverse doesn’t stop there. The forest surrounding the house features social activities and interactive horror-themed mini-games. You can sharpen your aim at The Purge practice range, chase balloons in The Black Phone Balloon Hunt, or go wild in Wolf Man’s Greenhouse Battle. The Blumhouse Horrorverse offers something for everyone. And for those wanting a break from the chaos, there’s a screening area featuring exclusive Blumhouse content. You can watch trailers and sneak peeks of upcoming films and TV shows.
