Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner face terror in Wolf Man.

NEW YORK—Blumhouse has once again breathed new life into the classic monster genre with Wolf Man, directed by Leigh Whannell. Fans first saw the chilling new thriller during New York Comic Con (NYCC). The film promises to deliver the same nail-biting tension Whannell brought to The Invisible Man.
Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott stars as Blake.
He plays a San Francisco husband and father grappling with a crumbling marriage. The plot unfolds when Blake inherits his remote childhood home in Oregon after his father’s disappearance. He hopes to mend his relationship. He persuades his wife, Charlotte (Emmy winner Julia Garner), to take a break from their busy city lives. They travel to the secluded property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth).
The trailer teases an unsettling journey as an unseen beast attacks a family. Forced to barricade themselves inside a home, the suspense mounts as Blake exhibits strange, animalistic behaviors. Charlotte faces a terrifying dilemma: protect her family from whatever lurks outside or confront the horrifying changes in her home.

In addition to Abbott and Garner, Wolf Man features a stellar supporting cast. This includes Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man), and Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama). Newcomers Zac Chandler, Beatriz Romilly, and Milo Cawthorne also star. The film, written by Whannell and Corbett Tuck, offers a modern take on the classic werewolf story. It explores themes of family, fear, and transformation. Produced by Blumhouse founder Jason Blum and Ryan Gosling, Wolf Man is a collaborative effort. The collaboration involves Universal Pictures and Waypoint Entertainment. Leigh Whannell, Beatriz Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Ken Kao serve as executive producers.
As shown in the NYCC trailer, Wolf Man promises to be a tense and atmospheric thriller. It highlights Whannell’s signature style of blending psychological horror with visceral scares. The film is set to prowl into theaters next year. It will bring a new nightmare to the iconic legend of the werewolf.
