Brandy Returns As Cinderella In Descendants: The Rise of Red Trailer

Brandy will delight 90s kids as she returns as Cinderella.

Disney+ has unveiled the official trailer for “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” giving us a glimpse of Brandy’s return as Cinderella. This highly anticipated, music-driven Disney Original movie will begin streaming on Friday, July 12, exclusively on Disney+. Following its release, fans can catch a special encore presentation on Friday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel. Watch the trailer below!

In this new chapter, former Villain Kid (VK) Uma, who has now taken on the role of principal at Auradon Prep, invites another VK to the school — Red. She is the rebellious daughter of Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts. The plot thickens when the Queen of Hearts launches a coup against Auradon. This prompts Red and Cinderella’s daughter, Chloe, to travel back in time. Their mission: to prevent the traumatic event that led Red’s mother down her villainous path. “Descendants: The Rise of Red” boasts a star-studded cast. It includes Brandy, Rita Ora, Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, China Anne McClain, Jeremy Swift, Dara Reneé, Ruby Rose Turner, Morgan Dudley, Paolo Montalban, Melanie Paxson, Leonardo Nam, Joshua Colley, and Peder Lindell.

Cinderella’s return in “Descendants: The Rise of Red.”

Brandy reprises the iconic character she first portrayed in the beloved 1997 television adaptation of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.” Her return adds a nostalgic and star-studded element to the new film, connecting the past and present of Disney’s storytelling.
