Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! The iconic educational superhero series Captain Planet is making its long-awaited DVD debut. Fans of the beloved ’90s show can finally relive all the action, adventure, and environmental lessons with Captain Planet: The Complete Franchise, arriving on DVD on October 15 from Warner Bros. Created by media mogul Ted Turner and producer Barbara Pyle, Captain Planet first aired in 1990 and quickly became a cultural touchstone. The series captivated audiences with its unique blend of animated action, environmentalism, and teamwork. The story follows five teenagers, known as the Planeteers, who are granted powerful elemental rings by the spirit of the Earth, Gaia. The rings give them control over earth, wind, water, fire, and heart; together, they fight against eco-villains threatening the planet. When their powers combine, they summon Captain Planet, a superhero with abilities far beyond those of the Planeteers, who help protect Earth from environmental destruction.

The series features an all-star voice cast.

It includes talents such as Martin Sheen, Meg Ryan, Whoopi Goldberg, and LeVar Burton. This DVD collection is a nostalgic treasure trove and a reminder of the series’ powerful message about protecting our planet. Captain Planet received critical acclaim throughout its run, winning the Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence. Its reach extended far beyond television, spawning a video game, toys, comic books, and more. The franchise’s influence persists today, encouraging younger generations to be mindful of the environment and take action to protect it.

Grab The Complete Franchise on DVD this October 15 and revisit the world where action and environmentalism unite to make a difference!
