Deadpool 3 goes into post-production tomorrow.
In a burst of social media announcements, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman revealed that production for Deadpool 3 has officially concluded. The duo has become synonymous with the irreverent and fan-favorite characters of Deadpool and Wolverine. They took to Twitter to share their mixed emotions about the end of filming. Ryan Reynolds, the wisecracking star of the Deadpool franchise, posted a heartfelt tweet accompanied by a photo of the iconic Deadpool belt. He humorously stated, “The suit hides the blood. Also, sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears.” Reynolds went on to express gratitude to the dedicated cast and crew who faced various challenges during production, from adverse weather conditions to unforeseen strikes. He credited the film’s success to their resilience and acknowledged the leadership of director Shawn Levy.
Hugh Jackman, known for his portrayal of Wolverine, shared the bittersweet moment of shaving off his iconic chops in a series of photos on Twitter. Reflecting on the journey, Jackman exclaimed, “What a ride!!! I’ve loved every minute of making this movie.” He spared no humor in mentioning that the only downside was the grueling training and diet, which accounted for a mere 6.8% of his overall experience.
Acknowledging the camaraderie with Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, Jackman expressed his gratitude. He stated, “To two of my best mates, @VancityReynolds and @ShawnLevyDirect, I literally couldn’t have done this without you. Literally!” He concluded the tweet with excitement about the upcoming release on July 26th, adding a humorous note about the impending shaving session.
Director Shawn Levy joined the Twitter celebration, sharing his enthusiasm for the project. “I had the greatest time of my life shooting this movie. Post production starts at dawn,” he tweeted, hinting at the next phase of bringing Deadpool 3 to life.
The upcoming film marks the integration of Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It is expected to retain its R rating and be filled with cameos, surprises, and Easter eggs. Notably, the film will bring back Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic and feature Hugh Jackman donning the iconic Wolverine costume.
