Greg Heffley faces wilderness camp in the new Wimpy Kid movie.

Disney+ has unveiled the first trailer for the animated family comedy “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw,” arriving exclusively on the platform on December 5. The film adapts the third installment in Jeff Kinney’s bestselling book series, which has sold millions of copies worldwide.
A New Voice Cast Brings Greg Heffley’s Troubles to Life
The upcoming feature introduces a fresh voice cast. Aaron D. Harris voices Greg Heffley, bringing new energy to the franchise. Chris Diamantopoulos returns to animation as Frank Heffley, Greg’s stern father. Erica Cerra voices Susan, Greg’s well-meaning mother.

Hunter Dillon portrays Greg’s older brother Rodrick with sharp comedic timing. Jude Zarzaur plays Rowley, Greg’s loyal and upbeat best friend. Gracen Newton steps in as Greg’s younger brother, Manny. The supporting cast also includes Jill Basey as neighbor Mrs. Canfield, Bashir Salahuddin as the judgmental Mr. Warren, and William Stanford Davis as Troop Master Barrett.
Trailer Highlights Greg’s Latest Predicament
The new trailer sets the tone with a series of escalating mishaps that push Greg into even bigger trouble. His father grows increasingly frustrated as Greg stumbles through one awkward scenario after another. As the pressure builds, Frank presents his son with an ultimatum that could change everything.

To drive the point home, Frank enrolls Greg in a wilderness camp program that promises discipline, teamwork, and very little room for excuses. Greg’s reaction is predictable, but the setup hints at some of the funniest and most heartfelt moments in the franchise so far.
Jeff Kinney Returns as Writer and Producer
Matt Danner, known for Legend of the Three Caballeros, directs the film. Jeff Kinney, the creator of the Wimpy Kid series, returns as writer and producer. His continued involvement helps maintain the tone and humor that fans have come to expect.
Disney+ Continues Its Animated Wimpy Kid Run
The Last Straw marks the fourth animated Wimpy Kid movie created for Disney+. The film follows Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021), Rodrick Rules (2022), and Cabin Fever (2023). The franchise has built a steady audience on the platform, and this new installment aims to push Greg into his most chaotic chapter yet.
