Disney Is Bringing Back Bob Iger As CEO After Ousting Bob Chapek

Bob Iger coming out of retirement and returning to Disney.

Disney’s board of directors has agreed to bring back former CEO Bob Iger. Current will immediately step down as the CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Iger will come out of retirement to return for two years and get the company back on track. Disney will work on finding a proper successor to lead the company into the future. Iger was the CEO from 2005 to 2020. He was the one who acquired Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox.

The Board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the Company through this pivotal period.”
