Jason Mewes Reflects on Dogma, Gaming Dreams, and His Jeeter Collab with Kevin Smith

Jason Mewes talks about 25 Years of Dogma and the new Jay & Silent Bob collaboration with Jeeter.

Jason Mewes is still going strong after more than 30 years of pop culture domination as Jay, one half of the iconic Jay & Silent Bob duo. In a brand-new conversation with Nerdtropolis, Mewes opened up about his latest adventure: a collaboration with Kevin Smith, National Lampoon, and top cannabis brand Jeeter.

Timed with National Donut Day on June 6, the duo stars in a new comedic short titled The Donut Shop, produced by Jeeter and National Lampoon. The short film marks the launch of Jeeter’s limited-edition pre-roll, Bluntman’s Chronic—a hash hole-infused product inspired by the fictional superhero alter-egos of Jay & Silent Bob.

“It’s always fun to put the costume back on,” said Mewes. “The world might have moved on, but Jay & Silent Bob always find their way back.”

Set in a real donut shop, The Donut Shop follows the duo on a quest to find a mythical “Unicorn Donut” made with their signature strain. The short mixes signature Jay & Silent Bob hijinks with a new-age twist of nostalgia, smoke, and satire.

The Bluntman Is Back

This Jeeter collab didn’t happen overnight. Mewes credits Kevin Smith’s longtime fandom of the brand, plus some good timing, and the shared vision between both teams.

“Kevin went into a store, and the folks at Jeeter heard he was a fan. That turned into a goodie bag… then into talks… and now this,” Mewes explained. “They’re just brilliant at marketing and building cool stuff. I was thrilled to be a part of it.”

The short is packed with fan-service and generational laughs, blending National Lampoon’s irreverence with Kevin Smith’s stoner cinematic legacy.

Dogma Turns 25

While promoting The Donut Shop, Mewes is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of Dogma, the 1999 film that redefined his career and remains one of the most controversial and beloved entries in the View Askewniverse.

“It was surreal watching it again on the big screen,” said Mewes, who attended a recent sold-out anniversary screening in San Francisco. “I hadn’t seen it in a theater since 1999.”

Despite personal struggles during filming, Mewes delivered what many fans consider one of his strongest performances.

“I was shocked when people told me how good I was. I felt like I was barely holding it together,” he admitted. “But that reaction from fans has always stayed with me.”

Gaming, Growth, and the Future of Jay & Silent Bob

Outside of film, Mewes is making moves in the gaming world too. He’s voiced characters in Fallout 76 and recently dropped Jay & Silent Bob skins in Call of Duty. Now, he’s got his sights set on Fortnite.

“I’ve got it all planned out—gliders, pickaxes, back bling. I want to hit the emote and turn into Bluntman and Chronic,” Mewes said with a grin.

Despite the wigs (he shaved his head after becoming a dad), Jason Mewes is just getting started. He still tours, games on Twitch, and connects with fans across generations—from grandmas to Gen Z.

“We’ve been doing this 31 years,” he said. “But the love just keeps growing.”
