The original film was released in 1991.

Hilarity ensues as Sue Ellen navigates the challenges of adulthood. It includes holding down a job and managing household responsibilities, all while trying to maintain the facade that everything is under control.
The remake features a new cast led by Simone Joy Jones as seventeen-year-old Tanya Crandell.
Tanya’s summer plans are dashed when her mother (Ms. Pat) decides to embark on a wellness retreat in Thailand, leaving Tanya in charge of her three siblings. However, when their elderly babysitter unexpectedly passes away, Tanya is thrust into the role of caretaker and breadwinner for her family.
